Carlos's experience in the marine industry has been enhanced by a former association with two respected yacht brokerage companies that include a 15 year association with Sparkman & Stephens design and brokerage company. He also managed the USA branch office of a European yacht brokerage located at the New York's Financial Center yacht harbor. His yacht insurance knowledge involves an internship at Chubb & Sons yacht insurance company while attending Wharton's MBA program.
Carlos is an experienced yachtsman and veteran ocean racer. This includes several transatlantic crossings and a circumnavigation of Cape Horn that was featured in Yachting Magazine. Bermuda, Buenos Aires, and Havana are some of the ocean races . He is a USA Olympic Sailor and Pan American and 2 time Masters champion. This includes racing on six meter, 5.5 meter, e scows, dragon, I O D ,starboat, J 24s and lightnings.
He is a former President of the Yacht Architects and Brokers Association and is a member of the Yacht Brokers Association of AMERICA and the Caribbean Yacht Brokers Association. He is also an active member of the New York Yacht Club and the Royal Ocean Racing Club, London.
